Meredith MudDucks 2023 Team Preview
2/20/2023by MudDucks Manager Dan Curnyn

This week's featured team is the Meredith Mudducks, managed by Dan Curnyn.

The 2023 MudDucks will be bringing back the original CORE group of players who played during the team's inaugural season. The team's pitching lineup will feature Nick Englert, the 2022 GSBL Strike Out Leader, who is known for his hard throws and pinpoint accuracy. With solid defensive support, Englert aims to surpass his 5-win total from last season.

After a severe injury in Atlantic City on Labor Day, Jordan Bladecki is making a comeback to the diamond. Although he won't be pitching right away, he will continue to be a key player on the team, helping to anchor the infield and provide some defensive prowess. Bladecki is eager to contribute to the MudDucks in any way possible.

Slugger and shortstop Joshua Guilmette is also returning to the MudDucks after a brief stint with the Muskrats, where he had an impressive batting average of .468. Guilmette hopes to help the MudDucks return to their Championship Game form by adding depth to the pitching rotation and shoring up the team's defense.

With the departure of catcher Ronald Mailand, outfielder/pitcher Chad Frazier, and utility man Trevor Greene, the MudDucks had to turn to recruiting during the off-season. They made several youthful additions to the team, including Brendon Vaughn (outfielder/pitcher), Cole Contigiani (infielder), Ryan Bousquet (utility player), Collin Sheehan (catcher), Blaise Ross (outfielder), Jack Gintof (outfielder), and Nathan Batchelder (utility player).

The MudDucks are excited to start the season with some new players, a renewed sense of energy, and a strong push to win the GSBL championship.
