Our next featured team is the ManchVegas Phillies, led by 8X GSBL Champion James "Big Jim" Kenney and 5X Champion Brian Shea.

The Phillies have climbed from the bottom to the top of the league standings, finishing only 3-17 ten years ago, to losing only 3 playoff games in the last 5 championship runs and securing 4 titles over that run.

This coming season, the Phillies will look to defend their title after sweeping the Granite State Grizzlies in the championship final in 2022.

The road to return to the top wasn’t easy as they went against very talented teams. The Phillies received a huge boost from Rookie of the Year winner, Cesar Jimenez, who had a batting average over .450 for the regular season.

Although Cesar was a huge help, it was the veterans who took over in the playoffs. Brian Shea went the distance in the final championship round and pitched in all but one playoff game, while Elijah Perez hit 4 noise-making home runs in the final and won the finals MVP.

All the Phillies’ roster will return for the 2023 season, and some new fans, as well. Sluggers Donny Bourassa, Steve Auger and Eric Rosado-Rodriguez are just a few returners.

The pitching staff will once again be led by Chris Lamb, Victor Jorge, Brian Shea, Norbert Rodriguez, and David Rivera.

The Phillies look forward to competing for another title, but most importantly, they are looking forward to getting back on the diamond to play the game we all love.
