Nashua Rockies 2023 Team Preview
3/20/2023by Nashua Rockies manager Kyle Boucher

This week's featured team is the Nashua Rockies managed by Kyle Boucher.

The Nashua Rockies return for the 2023 season with some longtime stalwarts retiring and plenty of new faces to the team.

Rockies single season and career steals leader, Bobby Gibbons, has retired from the Rockies.  All the catchers in the league are pleased with this news.  Vincent “Vinny” Lehman, longtime loyal 1B and 3B is going from picking bad throws from our infielders at first to picking the finest cucumbers in all of New England.  Former Rockies manager and the only Rockies right Fielder that I have known, James Harvey Jr., has retired from patrolling the outfield grass of North Common.

The Rockies return reigning Hitter of the Year in second baseman Korey LeLeivre.  He looks to add to his GSBL All-Time Triples lead as well as add another piece of hardware in 2023.  Longtime shortstop, Jeff “Playoff Jeff” Selesnick once again looks to have an average regular season numbers followed by legendary playoff hitting.  Ryan Smith and Kevin Towne who suffered injuries in 2022 look to bounce back and return to their form.  Ross Remillard, Austin Foutch and Wilson Pena-Bautista look to build on their solid first year in their sophomore seasons.

The 2023 Rockies have a new look in the outfield and within the pitching staff with a lot of new faces.  Anyone familiar with Daniel Webster or Merrimack Legion Baseball will see some familiar faces for the 2023 season.

With the returning veterans and the new players, the 2023 Rockies look to go on a deep playoff run.
