* Redbirds beat Brewers in Lone Game Played Last Two Weeks

Grizzlies Throttle the Defending Champions
In a rematch of the 2022 finals, the Grizzlies took down the defending Champs in a blowout win. Jake Chamblee pitched 6 innings for the win, allowing only 5 hits and 2 runs. Both of the runs surrendered were on solo home runs by Phillies slugger Donny Bourassa.
Justin Renik and Jim Rooney paced the offense for the Grizzlies, each with multiple hits and 3 RBI. Rooney’s base clearing, bases loaded double in the 6th inning off reliever Brian Shea was the dagger that ended the Phillies hopes for an opening day win. Ben Stratz and Chris Fosher also played stellar defense all day to keep the Phillies off the bases.
Chris Lamb threw 5 solid innings in the start for the Phillies, but didn’t get much help from his defense.
Next up for the 2-0 Grizzlies is a matchup on Saturday with the Northeast Tide (NSBL) in a non-league exhibition and the 0-1 Phillies go to Salem on Mother’s Day to face the Cardinals.

Lemay, Cardinals Rebound in Win Over Ducks
The Cardinals scored the first 7 runs of the game, and the Ducks couldn’t do much with Cards’ starting Pitcher Nick Lemay, who thew 7 solid innings in the win for the birds.
Brian Remillard had 2 hits and 2 RBI to pace the Cardinals offense, and leadoff hitter Nelly Diaz scored 3 runs and reached base 3 times.
Lemay, who also had an RBI, pitched 7 innings allowing 5 hits and 2 earned runs while striking out 10 and walking only one batter.
In the loss, the always reliable Nick Englert pitched 5 innings, allowing 9 hits and an un-Englert-like 6 runs.

'Rats, Rox Split Double-Header, Kleckner Goes Yard Both Games
The Rockies and the Muskrats spilt a doubleheader at Robbie Mills Sports Complex in Laconia.
In Game 1, the Rockies’ Kyle Boucher led his team to victory on the mound, pitching a complete game, while striking out 9 Muskrats.
Kory LeLievre recorded 3 hits, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI to lead the Rockies offense. Boucher also had multiple hits and scored twice, and Landon Henzley also had two hits for the Rocks.
For the Rats in Game 1, Jake Kleckner hit his first home run of the year in the 3rd inning off Boucher and recorded 3 RBI in the game. Jovan Henriquez took the loss on the mound, allowing 5 runs in 4 inings.
In Game 2, the two teams traded blows in a high scoring, back and forth game. For the Kleckners, Jake Kleckner went 4 for 5 at the plate, scoring 3 runs, and driving in another 3. Chris Moultroup had 2 hits and 4 RBI, and Mike Moran scored 3 times and drove in 2 runs.
Henzley and Boucher again led the Rockies lineup with multiple hits and RBI, and shortstop Roy Santiago drove in 3 runs and scored twice.
On the hill, Boucher, pitching in his second game of the day, took the loss in extra innings, and the Muskrats’ Dave Drouin recorded the win, pitching only 1 inning of relief.
Kleckner was the starter for the Kleckners, and Klecknered 6 innings, and Klecknered 8 batters while allowing 5 earned runs.

Brewers' Offense Surges Late in Comeback Win over the Bucks
The Brewers got behind early but hit the gas peddle in the 6th inning and mashed their way to a comeback victory to improve to 1-2.
Camden Guay, Matt Iandoli, Andrew Santo, Chris Hudon, and Matt Sciabelli all had multiple hits in a great day for the Brewers lineup.
Justin Senus, and Santo pitched a solid combined 5 innings of relief to allow the comeback to happen.
For the Bucks, Alex Perez, Jake Castro, and Shane Woods all collected multiple hits, and starting pitcher Ryan Burnor lasted 6 innings allowing 4 runs on 9 hits and not walking a single Brewer.
The 0-2 Bucks face the 2-1 Rockies this Saturday, while the Brewers have 2 weeks to get ready for a doubleheader with the MudDucks.

Black Sox Take Two From A's, Jaken Walks Off Game 2 Win
The Black Sox traveled to Lincoln for a doubleheader and took both games 9-6.
In Game 1, Jaken Pellerin and Cole Hapgood were all the Sox needed, as the split pitching duties and hit back-to-back home runs in the 4th innings. Harry Garofano also had 3 RBI, including the 2 that put the Sox ahead for good in the 3rd inning.
Game 2 was tied 6-6 after 7 innings and ended on a walk-off three-run homer by Jaken Pellerin. Kevin Lee and Tyler Manniello also recorded multiple hits, and
Chris Lekkas pitched 6 solid innings, allowing only 2 earned runs. The winning pitcher for the Sox was Will Pavitt who pitched one clean frame in the 8th inning.
